This week’s WordPress photo challenge encouraged bloggers to “let [their] inner world and the outside one converge in a photo.” I planned to post on this at some point this week, but inspiration fell in my lap before I even started looking. When I woke up on Saturday morning, the sun hadn’t risen yet. I didn’t sleep well, and I was upset that I couldn’t even enjoy sleeping in on a Saturday. A few hours later, I was still in bed. All of a sudden, I realized just how incredibly brightly the sun was shining. It made the texture of my bedspread so apparent. And I realized that sometimes all you need is a little sunshine to shed light on what’s right in front of your eyes. To make it obvious and tactile. I can be grateful that I’m here, right now, with the world at my fingertips, just waiting for me to reach out and touch it.
Check out the State of Mind challenge here, and visit Broken Light: A Photography Collective for some strikingly poignant photos that I’ve been browsing this week.

Thank you very much! I’m happier if, once in a while, I can bring a little of my inner thought to the surface.
