Some spring days do make me want to throw open all the windows. I want to bask in the sunshine, and I want to internalize that light so I can radiate it from every inch of my being. But, I don’t always have the energy to radiate pure sunlight from my soul. That’s when I get creative. If I need a little help from Estée Lauder to make it happen, so be it. Sometimes a swipe of lipstick makes it easier to get through the day.

With my makeup sorted, I can face the day with some sort of conviction. Even when I don’t know how I’m going to slog through the next couple of hours, at least I know I’ll look good doing it. On days when I can barely put one foot in front of the other, picking up my makeup brushes is an easy first step. It’s easy to make decisions when I have no purpose other than pleasing myself in mind. Then, I can look in the mirror and see that I’ve accomplished something. A bright face smiling back at me makes everything else a little bit more bearable.
